I met with my paint shop about this project and the detail's n colors etc today and they are on board with doing it.  >:D

As for which white to go with though has my head spinning, sooo many different options and directions to go with that.  :o

It sounds like they want to lay the white down prior to the blue for the 2-tone mids, so I need to decide on the white color first. I got on ebay and bought the least expensive piece of Kawi Surf Blue bodywork I could find, a top tail section piece for only $18, so once this piece shows up we can at least use it as our color swatch to put next to my red and green pieces I already have and then start comparing different whites into the mix to see which one looks the best...

 ???

As for the line that I mentioned on 2-tone mids with fins I think I'm going with what I described earlier and basically follow the top line of the outer mid, and then angle up to those black top sections, see pic below, might help to explain better, the bottom line of the tape would be the bottom line of the surf blue...

Whatcha think?  ???

Hi Jay.

I really like the color combinations you are considering....but the paint cut lines don't seem quite right.  I understand your logic and desire to use the body panels....makes perfect sense, but to me, the mark-ups you posted do not look integrated......almost like adding a carbon fiber hood to your car without painting part of it to integrate it with the fenders.  Not trying to bash your plans....just sharing my opinion.

I love the ZX7R color scheme and I believe that would look better.  However, I know that would defeat your desire to mix-n-match with the other panels you have.  Tough choice....and not sure my post helps in any way....but wanted to chime in.

Good luck with the decision and which ever direction you go, you and your bike have me as a fan.

Thanks Soda!  :beerchug:

So I've been looking at every white I can find on all vehicles to try and find one I like, I think I finally found it today!!  :)

It's the white that Suzi used on the 2013 One Million Commemorative Edition Gixxer 1000, it's called "pearl glacier white", it's a very cool color in person IMO, lots of blue hue's in the pearl which should go nicely...    >:D

Plus I'm a die hard Gixxer fan and have by far had more of those than any other bikes I've had over the past 30 years, so I like the thought of using it, even if it is on a Kawi!  ;) :)

I love the Blue/white gixxers.   Good looking paint schemes.

Can't wait to see how this all turns out.

What a pretty piece. Clean, sharp, great contrast. LOT of white with the bags if you use a similar theme but I have no doubt you could make it work.  :great: :great: :great:   Rendering coming soon I hope?

HIS work schedule?  You should see now much Stevewfl travels.  We had a rally this weekend in VA which he came up to.  I think he schedules about 50 days of vacation a year and just takes off on a whim!  heck, he went up to the Northeast just to see what real maple syrup tastes like!   :o

^^^wait now, a lady let me sample her maple syrup from a tree!  ;D

Dropping off at the painter tomorrow all the pieces that will be painted white...  >:D

Also dropping off at the painter tomorrow all the pieces that will be painted green...  >:D

I decided to just have them re-shoot the green lowers to make sure we get a perfect color match!  ;) :)

although all the custom colors have been uber-NICE, I bet the white/blue sets the bar so high you may be hesitant  to try anything else   :beerchug:

Well I figure this set will actually give me 4 sets (blu, blu/wht, blu/wht/red, blu/wht/grn), so yep I think this will last me a bit Steve!  ;D :beerchug:

The tough question will be which color combo should I run first after paint is done? The blu/wht/red would be the easiest obviously because I already have the red lowers, tail, and side case lids on right now...

Anyone have any preferences to which color/colors I should put on first?

 ???

Jay, a few years ago, we painted my sons Supra white, then I airbrushed 2 blue stripes across the hood and down the fenders. That blue was called Suzuki Blue....like the darker blue on the white gixxer in your pic. A very nice blue
