Title: ZG 14 vs ZG 10 low rider
Post by: cuda on November 30, 2014, 11:45:45 am
They could sell twice as many bikes -IF- they would come out with a sport touring bike with a four inch lower seat, I know guys and gals that would LOVE to own a ZG 14 but the seat is W A Y to high for them.
Just think if they made a model with a 26inch seat  :)  1000cc is all you need , supercharger option? :great: 100lb. or so less weight.
And then I woke up :o

Hi,
Being 6' 8" tall I can't see why short people cry so much about bike fit??? If I was 5'8" I would have about 5 80/90's superbikes in my garage but they don't fit!

It seems to me if you are shorter than normal you just have to shorten the seat and raise the pegs???  ::)

I put a custom cut Corbin seat that's 2" lower than the stock seat along with 1" lowering links, being 3" lower now solved my short leg problem with this bike.  :great:

ZG you have to sell a bike turn key with at least a three inch lower seat,
this girl I ride with has a Fat boy with a big windshield and she has a bad time in the wind  at 55- 60 mph she is 5'3"  110 lb.
I'm falling asleep and she was fighting it , a lot of people like HD's because they are soo low.
And in about ten years I might also ;D

Agree Cuda. A person who's an 'average' height of maybe 5'9 or 5'10 shouldn't have to spend hundreds of dollars on an aftermarket seat after spending thousands of $ to buy the bike in the first place. I don't own a Harley but have ridden a few and yes, their lower seat position is much friendlier (at low speed) than my C14. That being said I wouldn't swap my C14 for a HD in a million years.
I'm 5'10 with a 31" inseam and find the stock seat just about at the height limit for me. Unlike some others, I do find this seat perfectly acceptable for long journey comfort and have no plans to blow a load of cash on an aftermarket version.

I put a ZX14 seat on and it solved my seat issue. Cost was $70.

I don't know how much they could lower the design of the C-14 with the frame over the top of the engine.
