ZG 1400 or GTR 1400?
« on: September 20, 2018, 01:43:41 am »
Does this depend on the country where the bike is to be sold as to the name? Does it make a difference? Is the ECU programmed different to meet environmental standards in different countries? Sort of like the vehicles sold in California here? :??:

ZG1400 would be Kawasaki's model designation

1400 GTR is everywhere other than North America

Concours 14 is North America

SiSF would be better to answer if there is a difference in tune from NA to CA to World

One reason I ask is because the guy that does the ECU flashes ( Ivan) list all these .

There’s different ECU’s depending on the exact model. Ivan has the part number on his website and your ECU has a part number embossed on it.

Yes it depends on where the bike was originally shipped to.

Up to 2015 there were differences between the US and elsewhere. We all had Lambda sensors from 2007 onwards but they didn't get added to the US models until 2015. French, Belgian and Swiss models were power limited and some countries had speed limiters as well. Colours offered also differed.
All are ZG1400 (model designation) but are branded Concours in US & CDN and GTR elsewhere.
