"Card Holder" fell out of left, side cover.
« on: July 11, 2015, 10:20:59 pm »
At least I was told it is a card holder.
Anyone do something different/cool with the spot?

The previous owner put a reflector in there. What the hell is this spot for anyway?

Charlie is O.T.P.  "Over the pond "right now. He is the N.W. AD. Look at the O.T.P. thread under Rally rides and events    :)

I think it is where the dealers card went when they were new.  I got one and wear my COG member name and # proudly. :beerchug: :)   I hope you could get one but we got one by donating to the O.T.P. and they are already there. Good Luck

This card holder  thing is one of the oddest features I have ever seen on a bike.

I keep trying to imagine how that conversation at Kawasaki R&D went:

"oh yeah, dude.  That feature alone will sell the bike by the butt loads.  I mean, think about it.  No one else  has it"

I guess it never occurred to them as to why no one else has that in their design.  Personally, I think  this is taking business cards to an unhealthy level.

It is my understanding that on the original C10's, the person who assembled the motorcycle at the factory use to sign a card that was placed in the slot. Obviously if this is truly correct, that practice was discontinued long before production ended on the C10. I have one of Charlie's personalized name plates that he made me sitting in a drawer. I never got around to installing it on my C10 while they were still around.  :-[

My plate is held in place with RTV and the shiny aluminum tape that's used to seal duct work. Not duct tape, but the good super sticky aluminum stuff. If you press on the plate, the whole bottom part of the side panel moves so I know the plate is on there solid. It aint going nowhere. :)  :great:

I left it open on the last bike...I just stuck in all of my hopes and dreams in there for safekeeping. Wonder where they went.

I did a dry fit with the double sided tape and didn't like the small gap between the plate and the panel so I pealed off the tape. I then stuck it on as mentioned before. picky picky I know. :)
