Y'all can make fun all you want, but thanks to the title of this thread, I just realized there's another farkle I need.

A Spring Actuated Fairing Pocket Door Holdopener.
I think it is a nice idea, but might the pressure of the spring keep the door pushed up just enough to keep the edges from sealing, thus allowing rain into the fairing pocket?

I'd want the opposite, a spring-loaded closer.  That way I could leave the pocket unlocked and not worry about the lid bouncing open to let stuff escape.
