1994 Kawasaki ZG1000-A9 Engine swap (upgrade)

can anyone tell me up to what year model engine can i swap/upgrade too if I have a 1994-A9 that i can use the same parts such as alternator, starter, shaft drive etc and that the engine alignment is the same as a 94 but only a newer engine

You're pretty much limited to the same engine from a 1986~2006 Concours.  There are no easy upgrades.  A ZRX1200 motor can be made to work, but the work includes custom fabbing some parts.

Don't be hung up on the word 'newer', as a good older engine beats a bad newer engine any day.

Even a high mileage, older engine that is in good condition might be better than a low mileage, newer engine that has been thrashed, or not cared for, or hydro-locked.

86-06 will all work, 86 apparently had some issues with tuliping valves. Starter, alternator, etc apparently are all the same

Any year C-10 motor will work.
There are a few others that can be made to work, but {I think} all require changing the motor from chain to driveshaft...

If your looking for more power, the C-10 motor can be modified easier than changing to another engine.
