Attaching Windshield
« on: February 21, 2013, 02:45:05 pm »
Not surprisingly, those little rubber mounts/nuts to mount the windshield seem to disappear.  Does anyone happen to have some laying around that they want to get rid of?  Alternatively, does anyone have a good way of windshield mounting other than those silly things?   :-[

I don't have any extra, but I know Murph sells a less expensive alternative

Thanks Gary!!!   :great:

Oh...and feel free to smack me on the head for not doing a search before I asked.  I'm sure I could have found it.

I have used longer allen head screws, washers and nuts on the lower holes because of the nylon nut's seat cracking and glue failing to hold the torque needed to tighten them down. It is something that is much easier to do with the fairing off and making it nearly impossible to take off/change the windshield without removing the fairing.
'86 Concours totally custom just fer me!!

My '86 Concours featured nuts that dropped into the fairing, my 1998 is much improved. On the '86 I used duct tape to hold the nuts in place.
