Battery
« on: September 19, 2017, 11:43:58 pm »
I've just about changed everything on this bike, why not the battery?!. Any good battery recommendations? I'm new to this bike( haven't even gotten to take a proper ride!) So I don't know what to look for.

Anything like this that's delivered for cheap works fine.

I think 7.13 x 6.57 x 3.01 in is pretty close to the original battery size.

I think these are the original battery dimensions.
    Length: 7.125 in
    Width: 3.563 in
    Height: 6.375 in

Do NOT go cheap!  If stranded with a cheap battery you will wish you paid the $30 extra to get to where you intended to end that day.

Yeah, batteries aren't even on my C10 worry list anymore.
My exhaust pipe has a much better chance of rusting away and falling off before my "collective wisdom substandard battery" fails.  ::)
At 152K I'm on my 3rd battery after ditching the OEM flooded cell and the first one was a well used Panasonic SLA that Bram Frank told me was a bad idea eleven years ago.  :??:
FWIW, none of them have left me stranded.

I know of several (including myself) that used the type battery that Zorlac listed.. {above}

In my case, I had an old used one setting around and used it as a emergency battery for a trip.
That one trip test,,  ended up being about 2 years before the battery got weak..
I have no idea how old the battery was when I got it..
NOTE: Battery I used was an AGM.

Ride safe, Ted

Would that battery also work in a C14?

So I almost bought a battery for 70$. Then I realized it was a 2 pack! I'm digging the cheap battery! My other 2 bikes have batteries that cost over $120 a piece. :))

A C-14 battery is a different size.
They are built in many sizes/configurations of SLA batteries, so there is a chance that one would work.
Not sure if anyone has tried yet.

NOTE: The battery I used was an AGM. This one was noted as a SLA.
           Can someone clarify the difference?
