Title: C10
Post by: FTB530 on March 02, 2019, 08:30:20 am
Did any year of the c10 have a 1200 cc engine? I know nothing about them. Thought they were 1000cc!

That was a custom job.  I believe it was Dan Paulsen (danodemotoman) that managed to put a ZRX1200 engine in his C10.  Lots of custom machine work.  There is a thread here somewhere about the build I believe.  Impressive work by Dan to be sure!

I think Dan currently owns the bike with the 1200 engine, but a former member named Bergman did the deal. Very talented engineer, Mr. Bergman also invented the SPOOFAK (highly recommended) which allows spin on oil filters to be  used on the C10.

Right on all counts. That was a full engine swap. My bike (Steve in Sunny Florida's build) has a custom cylinder block and pistons using Concours and ZX11 parts to achieve 1109cc. (See https://sites.google.com/site/shoodabenengineering/my-concours---shoodaben (https://sites.google.com/site/shoodabenengineering/my-concours---shoodaben) for details.)

Both are pretty amazing engineering efforts to bring more performance to the C10.

Yep you're right.  My aging brain forgot that.   :-[Bergman hasn't been around for a while.

All C-10's had 1000 cc bikes originally.
Colin also did the ZRX-1200 install, and there were quite a few 1052's out there that people have built.

Ride safe, Ted

I see lots of craigslist ads that make it obvious that the seller doesn't seem to have a clue.  First clue is they can't spell Concours!!  Or the guy that has his nose stuck up in the air.  It's a Concour.  I just shake my head and go on.

There is a ZG1200 but that is the Voyager, not the Concours.

I have been looking at those for quite a while.  Would love to ride one once.  As SISF has told me, the problem is not the bike but the owners that haven't heard of the word depreciation!

The add I saw had a picture of a c10 and he did spell it Concorde so I’m thinking he doesn’t know what he has.

As I remember Colin (X COG IT) put a C10 using a1200 together a few years back.
