Card holder?
« on: November 02, 2018, 09:27:46 pm »
So I was talking to my MOM, and she said that on the side fairing there's a card holder? To hold business cards and stuff?... this seems absolutely ridiculous to have on a motorcycle..... and I love it and want it. When I looked it appeared like there was just a small clear piece of plastic, but didn't seem like it opened to to anywhere or anything. It's entirely possible I'm just not smart enough to figure out how it works... but I'm lost.

remove the side cover, the plastic window has a place behind it where you could "slip" a card, or whatever, in there... originally Kaw placed this there, thinking they would send out "cards" with owners name on them, and it would be a 'cool feature"... they never followed up on it...

many of those clear 'windows' got popped out, and lost, because people pushed on them...
if yours are intact, use  it for something interesting...  most of us that see the bikes with the missing plastic, call that "the FARKLE slot", where you shove $20 bills into the bike, like feeding a bank machine...

I know I'm a geek, so here it goes...
I printed on a piece of paper our names, and home town, coated it with clear packing tape (didn't have a laminator then) and slipped it in the slot. Definitely increased the cool factor by abut a factor of 0.01  :)

I figured it was for Dealerships to put a business card in, like license plate frames,
to advertise...  I 've been wrong before.

I guess I'll leave it empty till Ma Kaw sends me that card.

Marty, have you officially done the owner change on the Kawasaki website?  If you don/t, you'll never get the card.

Of course I have, Jorge.  5 years ago....  still waiting....   :o

Did I have the right web site?   www.heykawasakiwhyismycardholderstillempty.com

Because for some strange reason, the web site isn't there anymore.   :??:

That's what my dealer had done.  It has long since fallen out, and I haven't replaced it with anything.

I love it Mike. if I still had my C10, I believe I would print in color, laminate it, and swap them.

One of the COG Members {Charlie Gary} used to make a engraved card that you could put there.
He made one for me .

Has the COG emblem on it and sez;       Ted Adcock
                                                        "Over the Pond"
                                                             "Chief"
                                                          "Slave Labor"

I'm not sure if he still makes them?

Ride safe, Ted
