Cluster swap/conversion
« on: May 02, 2013, 12:50:57 pm »
I've done some searching, but have come up pretty empty on this.

I would like to convert my 92 connie to the newer style(or similar) cluster.  I find that the small, faded lettering on my stock one is a bit hard to read at times.

I can't seem to find the thread now, but I remember finding a thread somewhere about the cluster from that area of ninja plugging(and I assume, bolting) straight up,  but I can't seem to find any data other than that.

So, what will plug right in, and what will bolt in?   Conversely,  what will plug in, but require mounting brackets to be fabbed/replaced?

There was a member here at one time that I watched put a newer cluster on an older C10.   I do not remember what if anything he had to do to the mounting but I know he had to rewire the connectors.  It was doable with enough research.  Rev_Rider may remember more.  He lurks here sometimes.
