I ride my '06 Connie 4-5 days a week approximately 23 miles each way.  The C10 is a great commuter bike, which gets 40-42mpg, as opposed to my crew cab duelly diesel truck which get around 13mpg...  Mike Freeman  AMA# 998092  Present Beast(s): '06 Concours  '89 Honda XR600  '07 Yamaha  RIP: '82 Suzuki GS850G       '74 Honda CB450K7

When I moved to Hawaii, I put about 11,000 miles on my 2003 Concours in just over a 14 months. The traffic in Hi was terrible. My 22 mile drive to work would take an avg of 1 hour. Most of the time I would avg 30mpg. Now living in CT. I avg about 38mpg now.

I commute about 100 per week, from late March to Thanksgiving. Not bad for Minneapolis. I get 38 mpg on the Connie, 35 - 38 mpg on the CBR 600 F4i, and 12 mpg on my F-150 4x4.    Both bikes are easier to park than my truck and a lot more fun. The Connie is my ride most of the time, especially when it's cold or wet. The weather protection is excellent and it's a lot easier to pack clothes and my brief case. The CBR is my ride for hot days.Yes, we do get a few hot days in Minnesota.    There's nothing like a little two wheel therapy to make the day better.

74 miles round trip per day. I will start as soon as the temps stay above freezing and go until the reverse. At the rate we are going I'll be able to start the 15th of July and be done the 15th of August. Why I live here I will never know. Must be "born here, stay for the jobs and people"

I have now had the chance to commute to work several times on the Connie and I must say, it makes my 45-mile trip a lot more comfortable than the Ninja.  The extra wind protection leaves me less beat up at the end of the ride.    This is going to be a fun year.  I am estimating that if I have already put in 700 miles, I could easily exceen 15,000 for the year.  Before, I wasn't commuting on the Ninja until late April due to the weather.  : 37k miles  2007 Ninja 250: 15k miles

Commute is 25 miles round trip; approx. 2/3 on the slab. Ride the C10 or the Buell XB unless really cold or rain chance is >40%. I know it costs more (at current gas prices) to ride versus drive but it is SOOO much more fun!! ;)

I have commuted 800 miles to and from work and I must say, the C10 is a mighty comfy ride.  Now that the MPG has reached an expected level, I can once again go 200 miles per fill-up (every 2 days) and keep a safe margin of fuel in the tank.    My preferred country route home has some nice curves that this bike handles very well.  I wouldn't not have thought such a big bike would handle this well around corners.  : 37k miles  2007 Ninja 250: 15k miles

I'd commute on the C10 but I can't get it through the front door.

I just got my new 01 ZG showing 16k to replace my 97 ST11 with 109k. So far mpg is down from the ST. MPG is getting better as I fine tune. The weather protection is far better. I'm putting in 65 miles round trip.
weather or not ride there
