Fork seal dust cover
« on: November 02, 2017, 11:12:57 pm »
So I noticed that I had a little junk on my right fork. So I saw on here to try the tape around the fork because it could just have dirt between the cover and the fork. Well when I did that the dust cover popped off. I cleaned around it and pushed it back on. How much oil should I see before I replace the seals? And if the dust cover just came off like it did, should I just replace them anyway?

Dust seals do come off very easily, no need to worry. If you're seeing oil though, the seals are either shot or there's gunk under them.

I tried using the seal mate thing, and it worked for about 2 months, then started leaking again. I'm giving up and going back go OEM seals.

I think it was just a ton of gunk under the dust cover. I'm gonna take her or tomorrow and check
