How weather proof are C-10 bags ?
« on: August 08, 2015, 02:58:42 am »
What's the verdict on how rainproof or not the C-10 stock bags are. I see a thread about bag liners started recently, presume to just hold stuff for quick removal etc..... or for weatherproofing ?

The hard cases on my 98 are quite weather resistant. I've kept stuff in my left side bag including the liner to my mesh jacket, and even pieces of mail, and never found anything damp after the occasional "bike wash".  ;D

I live on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, in the Pacific Northwe't, as we call it.  On the edge of the Olympic Rain Forest.  You CAN'T get more rain than we do here. The  only place wetter is a submarine.  No leaks here.

Bag liners are just for convenience. One of mine had a slight leak. Make sure when the bags are latched close that you can't push them closed a bit more by pushing on the outer half. If you can you can bend the latching tab a bit to tighten up the latched closed position.

No problems with mine ever leaking.  I've had three C10s and none ever leaked.

Mine don't leak either. But I still put my clothes in a water proof bag. Just in case??
