Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck Oil
« on: September 28, 2019, 06:37:48 pm »
Not another oil thread, per se.
I was at Wally World and the Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck oil caught my eye.
As being one of the preferred non-motorcycle oil to use and being due for an oil change, I picked up a jug of it.
Has/does anybody used/know if the formula is still ok for wet clutch applications, no JASO on the label. I'm not sure if it ever had it, did it? Just don't feel like pulling the clutch pack.

FYI, The Rotella T6 does have the JASO endorsement.

Please only post on this subject as not to start a long oil thread, lol.

Does it say "energy conserving"?

I see nothing there referring to JASO MA/MA2.

It doesn't have the Jaso Ma certification That doesn't mean it doesn't qualify. Apparently they have to test and pay for the designation. If it's not in the field they market to, no need to certify. I have been running this exact oil in all my bikes for years. I do things that could be construed as hard on a clutch. never the first issue. JMO Steve

You should be fine. If it is a true fully synthetic oil and you like the price.

I have never specifically looked for the jaso cert. But prefer rotella when I can get them on sale.

Any good 10w-40 oil w/o friction mods works fine. It also depends on your riding style. Mine is city riding so I prefer to change my oil often therefore a good dino oil works well for me.

Now, can we please turn this into another long oil thread.
