Synchronizing: Why is ATF "OK" for the carbs?
« on: July 20, 2017, 01:33:33 pm »
Seen various sync videos and such and planning on doing the sync when the 02's carbs come back from steve....however I have always wondered why it's OK for ATF to get sucked into the carbs. Obviously mercury would be bad......I get that, but why is ATF OK for them??

If any ATF gets sucked in, it will go through the balance port and directly into the engine, not actually into the guts of the carb.  In any event, it won't hurt a thing, it's pretty much just oil with additives.  Exhaust might smoke a bit till it all burns off.
Remember, much of what you see on-line is wrong or misguided, your task is to filter that out!

If you do it right it won't get sucked in.
