Title: Thermostat time; 180° or 195°?
Post by: TinDog on April 21, 2018, 07:09:52 pm
Like the subject line says, I'm replacing my thermostat while also replacing coolant hoses and O-rings.  I'm going the 1983 Accord route for the new thermostat is the general parts list is still up to date.  I'm guessing the stock stat is 180°, but many seem to subscribe to the idea that a warmer engine will run more efficiently and won't fluctuate as much.

If it helps for thermostat recommendations, most of my riding is (sad to say) just commuting with occasional stop-and-go traffic.  Summer commutes can be from 90 to 105° ambient air temp, and I'll ride in the winter down into the low teens.
