Time to rewatch the carb removal video
« on: June 03, 2019, 01:34:16 pm »
I was doing a valve check/adjust and that went great.  I must of bumped the thermostat housing just enough to cause a coolant leak where the housing attaches to the log.  Good news is it ran  great after the valve adjustment.  Fortunately I saw the coolant leak before I but it back together.

Why remove the carbs?
Drain the coolant.
Remove the hose.
Remove the top cover of the thermostat housing and the thermostat.
Disconnect the temp sensor and unscrew it from the housing.
Undo the one bolt that holds the housing to the log.
Fit new o-ring, and reassemble.
Be careful not to move the coolant log or you'll get a leak where the log enters the head, and fixing that leak does require carbs out.

I might try that first.  Thanks! I'd been wanting to drain and replace with the cocktail anyway.

I found the best way to ease removal of carbs is to replace the boots on the air filter housing.
Makes pulling the carbs easy. Almost gotten so good at pulling them I almost find it fun. :)
Dang, I need to get riding again. :motonoises: :motonoises: :))
