Hi Everyone,

I've been back for a little while now, but I haven't had a chance to work on the bike. I'm hoping to get some time in soon, and as soon as I do, I'll let you all know what's up.

Thanks for all the advice! I'm going to start with the fuel problem idea, then move on to electrical if that doesn't work.
Like I said, I'll keep you posted, and thanks again!

So, it's been a while...
but I believe it may be the petcock! When I was loosening the hoses to remove the tank I noticed gas leaking around the petcock. I'm waiting on the part now.

Replacing the petcock is one step to preventing hydrolock, but I don't think a leaking petcock is going to cause your bike to die.  In post #8 Steve asked when you had adjusted the valves last.  I don't see a response that the valves have been checked and adjusted accordingly.  Steve tends to know what he's talking about.  A wise man would listen to him.  HTH ;)

Well, just to clean this up: It was the petcock. I rebuilt it and all is good :) Several long rides have confirmed :)

I had identical issues when I bought my bike . This thread is almost identical too...lol . It was that ridiculous tygon fuel line heating up , getting flimsy and kinking . I put good old regular fuel line on and all was good .
