Oops, I forgot you need to register to see this stuff. But that isn't a bad thing, that is a cool site to cruise around in.

I saw it - I think -a couple days ago. If so, it's a zxr1200 engine for sale. 800.00. IIRC it was in Mi. Anyone need some torque  :) Steve

Yes, it's a clean engine from a bike that swapped to a 1224 engine. This is a good thing since a lot of engines are from wrecks and you really don't know what the engine might have been exposed to when the bike went down (WFO on it's side with no oil flow until the banged up rider could crawl over and shut it off).

ZGRX 1200 Concours #3 anybody?

I registered to the forum yesterday but it states I don't have access to the section that your shortcut points to. I also tried to go to the for sale section and i was blocked. Maybe the registration has to update. Does it include carbs and such or is an engine only?

I NEED it, well, I guess I really just want some more. The Bandit spoiled me. I just don't have the time or money right now.   :smiley_confused1:

Here's the pics and the OP's first posting.  Considering what I've seen , this is a pretty good deal price wise.  I have no clue about shipping or if they will ship.

good running engine out of a 2001 zrx 1200. only reason it was pulled was to swap it for a 1224. there are a couple scrapes on the clutch cover but it wasn't dropped on its side. good clutch cover was swapped for this one. bike had 40000 miles when engine was pulled. $800. also has ivans block off plates.

I presume you would use the Connie gearbox to maintain 6th gear and shaft output?

Correct.  Dan Bergmen who initiated this thread is also the person responsible for pioneering and documenting that conversion.  The engine alone is not quite all that is required, but it is the lion's portion.  In Dan's case, he began with an entire ZRX1200 and was able to part out the unused parts which substantially lowered his final cost in the project which won the Best Engineered award at the 08 Nationals in Frisco, Colorado.  It's one slick and powerful piece.

Dan Bergman is a bad, bad influence.  I've already cut down and replaced a windshield, making trim pieces and planning on how to relocate the coolant bottle (not as easy on Kalifornia models due to some (rap on the right side) and lusting after a SPOOFAK.

Now I'm supposed to start looking for a ZRX1200 engine for when Miss Swail's non-tuliped 86 motor dies (hopefully not for atleast 13K more)?
