Dropped 2nd day and then a few days ago
« on: May 27, 2013, 04:47:20 am »
Hey everybody I just joined; nice to meet yall!

I dropped my Connie the second day I had it.  it's a beautiful 2012 candy Arabian red.  I was on a really weird slanted driveway.  When I started to take a left down the hill, by surprise its momentum started over and it was over quickly with me tumbling head over heals down the hill. $1100.

Second time was three days ago on a flat gravel area. I didn't notice i had  stopped the motorcycle in second gear -- i always stop by using the side stand and then turning off the key.  well I left it in second and when I went to take a small slow left turn to get out of there, it jumped and once it starts coming down, it's very likely it's going to hit the dirt. To my pleasant surprise I actually did pick the bike up but it took everything I had. I didn't think i could. I ride a lot alone and it's been my fear i couldn't. Not as much damage as last time. This time it will be an insurance claim. I'm going to ride it some more first. i put 22k on it since 4/9/12. Maybe ill get my nx drop done while it's still messed up. A black magic marker has it looking pretty good -- it's on the left side thank goodness.

Welcome to COG, Mike - thanks for joining!

At least you're going over a year between drops.  And you're not competing with Cap'n Bob who had his go over on the very first day he had it.  Glad to hear the insurance will cover poor Connie's convalescence - and that you didn't need a convalescence yourself!  Picking up 700 lbs of motorcycle is not to be done lightly... [NPI]

And so it has now become my sad duty to confirm you as the 448th recipient of the uncoveted Connie Droppers Anonymous Award.  You have another tale to share around a Rally campfire.  My sincerest condolences!

The five most recent unfortunates:

0445 C10 Edward Macalolooy
0446 C14 Andrew Howgego
0447 C10 Seth Miller
0448 C14 Mike Thacker

Thanks for the welcome and the reply -- I really appreciate it.

Yes I'm very happy to know that I can pick up the motorcycle if I'm out by myself, however I hope that that is my very last time to drop it.

Keep it between the ditches and watch out for those deers! mike
