CDA number needed
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:55:44 am »
Been riding since I was 10..... street bikes since I was 18.. that's 40 years on bikes, 32 on street bikes.  Before owning my C14 I dropped ONE street bike ONCE.... Owned my C14 just this one year and have dropped it twice already... GAAAAA!  Once, I forgot to unlock my front rotor lock and today I didn't fully deploy my side stand.

BOTH incidences were saved by my Canyon Cages.  Praise the Lord I installed those babies, they are worth every penny.. ZERO damage to the bike, nothing touches the ground except the cages and the tires.

Gettin' older.. it sucks.  But at least I had the wherewithal to buy the cages.  Cheapest insurance ever!

Arrgh - this growing old thing is not for the faint of heart, is it?  Yep, handling Connie at slow (or no) speed can be challenging, even for old hands with lots of experience.  Glad to hear neither you nor Connie was hurt - those Canyon Cages are great, aren't they?  They're even better when actually attached to the bike!  You wouldn't believe how often I read that the new CDA Award recipient had a set sitting right on the shelf in the garage - often within sight of the drop zone... sigh.

Your incident does qualify you for the CDA Award except for one thing.

You need to be a full COG member.  Don't worry, we don't make you drop it again after you've joined in order to qualify!  Most folks join if they hang around a while and like what we do here, so just drop me a line after that happens and we'll add you to the roster.

Just to avoid confusion, here are the instructions: How to Convert from Forum Subscriber to Full COG Membership

Welcome to COG and thanks for joining, John!  As soon as your profile lists the COG#, I'll assign you a CDA# too.  It shouldn't take more than a day or three.

There we go; I suspected it wouldn't take too long.  Welcome to COG and thanks for joining!

And so it has now become my sad duty to confirm you as the 449th recipient of the uncoveted Connie Droppers Anonymous Award.  You have another tale to share around a Rally campfire.  My sincerest condolences!
