dropped it in the garage in the first month
« on: February 23, 2014, 06:36:04 pm »
Back in October of last year, I traded a 2000 W650 for a 2003 Connie.  After the five hour ride home which was much more comfy on the Connie, I spent the month learning all the ins and outs of my new toy.  Pulled up the drive one day, rolled into the garage and didn't have my weight distribution quite right I guess because I rolled to a stop and she started falling left.  I simply put my left foot a little farther out than normal and watched...no way to try to keep that much bike from going over once it starts that slow spiral into gravity.  Picked it up using the butt toward seat method, got the side stand down and looked for damage. The only thing that suffered was my pride, that's why it took me 4 months to report it here.  Still stings a little...

I know how that pride thing goes, Spike.  Been there, done that, used the T-shirt to mop up some oil.  Once she starts spiralling down that gravity well, Connie just doesn't want to stop.  Glad to hear that neither you nor she was hurt!

And so it has now become my sad duty to confirm you as the 489th recipient of the uncoveted Connie Droppers Anonymous Award.  You have another tale to share around a Rally campfire.  My sincerest condolences!
