Fall down go thud
« on: August 05, 2013, 05:47:07 am »
My name is Matt and I dropped my C14  :-[

It was bound to happen sooner or later... got back from a 275 mile ride a couple weeks ago, was backing up my C14 in the driveway and over she went.  All I could do was watch her go over in what seemed like slow motion lol. This is the 1st time I've ever dropped a bike and was dreading picking it back up.  Well, after a quick laugh at myself and a few choice words, I was able to get her righted.  Looking back on it, what happened was this: slick soled riding boots, a chunky bike and a gravel driveway don't mix well. Luckily, the only damage was a small scuff on the mirror (which folded away) and a small scuff on the pannier.
It sucks, but it is what it is....

I am so sorry to hear it, Matt.  Gravel is  a rough thing to encounter any time it's under your tires.  Glad you were at walking speed and that neither you nor Connie was hurt!  And so it has now become my sad duty to confirm you as the 459th recipient of the uncoveted Connie Droppers Anonymous Award.  You have yet another tale to share around a Rally campfire.  My sincerest condolences!
