Yup, happened to me in front of my house when I came home for lunch.  I was trying to position it so it wouldn't lean too far over on the side stand and apparently the bike moved a bit and folded up the stand.  Tried to catch it, but with a full tank of gas, there was no hope.  I did manage to sort of set it down gently and for my efforts, she rewarded me by dumping me flat on my back in the street!  The really good news is that nothing broke, just a small scrape on the underside of the left bag.  The left mirror folded in and the peg is OK, too.  Nothing damaged but my ego.

Ron CDA0288.  The classic Kickstand Crash!  C10 or C14?    Double check the peg bracket real close for hairline cracks.  Was it it gear when she went down or Neutral?    Greg H from Mass, Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude  COG# 7010,a Tracey  CDA 120  99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle", 05 Ninja 250

Glad only your ego was damaged.    I'd bet it was in gear with the clutch lever pulled.      1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato (the bike ofcourse)  wedshots albums   http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

Nope, in neutral, engine off.  It's a C10, 1999.  Just curious, what difference does it make if in gear or not?  BTW, tipover bars going on this weekend.

Mr. Gravity scores again. The gentle drop, I have 3 under my belt, fortunately it's more embarassing than anything else.

In gear it won't roll. You can put it in gear and roll it forward with the clutch disengaged until the gear 'grabs'.  Then put the sidestand down.  This will prevent it from rolling forward any further.  Same works for backward if you are facing an upward hill; just do it opposite.    The tip-over bars are great.  Got them on my 99 as well.  Saved me once already from more damage.    Greg H from Mass, Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude  COG# 7010,a Tracey  CDA 120  99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle", 05 Ninja 250

The tipover bars are well worth the money. Fortunatly, I already had them   on my 99 when I droped it, I've droped everything I've ever had before so   I figured this one wouldn't be any different.
