Just a matter of time
« on: August 25, 2008, 08:13:00 pm »
It was only a matter of time.  I've had my 1991 C10 for 2 years and I finally dropped it. On my way to work the bike was running badly putting me in a bad mood(problem 1).  I stopped for gas making me late for work(problem 2).  I got within a half mile of work before realizing my laptop was in my car at home(problem 3).  I can't work without my laptop so I went home to get it in a hurry an a worse mood(problem 4).  Once in my driveway I tried to circle around before I stopped to be headed the right way once I got the computer.  I've never done that before and guess what, my driveway is smaller than the turning radius of a c10 (problem 5).  So I did the next best thing. put my foot down on my recently sealed driveway where I just couldn't get enough traction to keep it from falling over.    I broke the footpeg bracket, which apparently had been broken and fixed twice by the PO so it needed replacing anyway. I have a light bar and i think that saved the fairing from any scratches which is good since I just painted it this winter.    What did I learn?  Bad mood+late+slow speed manuevering+slippery surface = CDA    Bill

Bill, CDA0283.  Good lessons learned.  I too make mistakes when I'm in a rush.  Glad to hear you have her all fixed up.  Check out the FAQ for a link to print out a CDA sticker if you like.  Just edit to add your CDA, print, and stick to your bike (I put a laminate over top).  Greg H from Mass, Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude  COG# 7010,a Tracey  CDA 120  99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle", 05 Ninja 250
