Title: Looks like I got the Tip Over Bars just in time....
Post by: Mcfly on October 16, 2016, 08:31:11 pm
Went for a ride today, got home, felt great and decided to make a "Clean stable" so I got the bucket out, and washed both the cars
and it was Connie's turn for her bath.  I always wash her on the Center Stand, so I went through all checks.... except one...
I never took off my riding boots.  Of course the driveway was wet, but I've done this sooo many times on a wet driveway, but not
in my riding boots.

As I pushed down on the CC and pulled up and back, just at the "over the hump" part of the lift, my grounded foot slipped in towards the bike.
Life went into "Matrix mode" as I went to regain my foot as the bike came down and forward...  It fell over away from me.  Did what I could to
ease the fall, but I could only do so much.  I walked around the bike, and took in the image...  then went Hulk on it and lifted it up.   :'(

I just installed Rivco tip over bars before the trip to the Nationals, and they did their job well...  Only scratches to be had, and all on the bars at the
landing points.  I'm now a member of the club I never wanted to join.

Note to self:  Riding boots slippery on wet surface.  (and the tip over bars just paid for themselves!)

Sorry to hear that Marty. It never happens when you expect it, or it wouldn't happen, right?

Tip over bars FTW.

They say there's types of 2 riders in this world:  Those who have dropped their motorcycle,
                                                                           and those who haven't..... YET!

 :017:  Hmmm...

:)  I'm good wit dat!   :rotflmao:

(I was the only one there... no neighbors, no one...  So... if a Connie falls in the middle of the driveway, and no one was there to see it, did it really fall?)

Glad for nondamahe Marty.
Yes, no one around is a lot better that 7 COGgers, at an RTE, sitting just inside of a picture window that overlooks the spot where you're parking.
At least it entertained them and gave them some good laughs.  :-(

Thanks Jorge, I guess it wasn't as bad as I thought....   :(
At least you had help picking it up!  Even with the T/O bars, I think something rolled down my pant leg picking the beast up!  Geez!

Help picking it up?  try again. Then again, it came up pretty quickly. I used the place seat in small of you back and push with your legs technique, and it works great.
They still give me a hard time about it, maybe that's why i moved to FL?   No, I miss those guys.
The technique really is quite effective, and almost no risk to hurting yourself when you pick it up.
