Mine too! (happy ending though)
« on: September 16, 2008, 01:07:00 pm »
Wife and I went to Blue Ridge Parkway for Memorial Day weekend, like usual.  While making a tight u-turn in the Mount Pisgah Lodge parking lot, I lost the friction-point and over she starts to go! like a fool, I stick out my leg, and hold the grip like crazy. 3/4 of the way over, it stopped, just like a Touring-Bike would. I had just before the trip installed a bar on the front for running lights, and it "caught" the bike. I know they wernt made for that purpose, but it worked for me!  My Wife parks her Nomad, and comes running over to see why I am smiling after that!  I bought the bar from Ohiopoorboy (ebay I.D.) on Ebay.  Potlikker (aka 305940)  COG # 6359  Covington, Georgia USA    www.myspace.com/potlikker454    "I would rather ride my Motorcycle in the rain, than drive the Company truck in the sunshine"

Lucky dog. That's the best kind of CDA story there, where bike never actually meets ground.

Glad to hear the no damage report.  Maybe we should figure out a way to mount training wheels on the bars.    1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato (the bike ofcourse)  wedshots albums   http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

Ricky, CDA0285.  Glad to hear the tip-over bars worked well and you weren't injured.  In 2007 at Americade I took the Experienced Riders Course at which I became much more confident on the Concours at parking lot speeds.  Highly recommended.      Greg H from Mass, Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude  COG# 7010,a Tracey  CDA 120  99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle", 05 Ninja 250
