The new pants escapade!!
« on: September 07, 2013, 03:06:47 pm »
As I was turning into the parking space in  a completely empty parking lot at the church where I had a meeting it happened. Went to put my right foot down and it wouldn't go down!!! My pants cuff had caught on the footpeg.   :c029: . By the time I got it loose it was past the point of no return.  Luckily it went over easy and nothing more than a few scratches. New pair of pants that will have the cuffs hemmed before they are allowed on any future rides.

i pull into a parking lot throw the kickstand down  and when i put my left foot on the ground and started to raise my right leg to swing over it was as if some outside force
pulled the bike from between my legs and for a moment i was frozen in the pose of a really bad figure skater. the cause???? i stopped front tire centered on a big gulp lid.

next one bike cover left on bike during hi winds

third one bike left sitting rear tire goes flat bike stands up straight and falls over

All sorts of things can catch down there.  I've had shoelaces catch on the shift lever.  I've learned to disengage my feet BEFORE coming to a stop and that little trick has saved me from going over at least a couple of times.  Glad to hear that neither you nor Connie was seriously hurt.

And so it has now become my sad duty to confirm you as the 466th recipient of the uncoveted Connie Droppers Anonymous Award.  You have another tale to share around a Rally campfire.  My sincerest condolences!

Ok two stories relating to this.

1st one. I was riding on the Cross Bronx expressway. Actually not much traffic and we were moving pretty well when I noticed my left shoelace was stuck around the shifter. Tried pulling and manager to get a bit more slack but still couldn't get it off. It ended up falling off on it's own someplace in NJ.

2nd one. I had just picked up my 2007 Bandit 1250. Had it maybe a few weeks and I go to the Elementary school to PU my son. Somehow the kickstand magically put itself back up  :) LOL!!! I was sitting there for a few minutes before I went to get off the bike and I swore I had put it down. Well over it goes and I tried to grab it so it pulled me over with it. Needless to say all of this in front of all the other parents picking up their kids. Not happy. LOL!!!
