1999 Concours in Massachusetts
« on: July 30, 2014, 03:52:47 pm »
Hi All,

Just picked up a 1999 Concours with 24,000 miles on it.

Also have a 2003 Suzuki Bandit which I love.  However my wife just went on our first motorcycle trip and thou she loved the trip, the Bandit is not very comfortable for 2 up riding.  So that led me to the Concours (MUCH better for passenger).

Bike is pretty stock except for Rifle Windshield (17" which I can't really see over, so I may shorten).  Also the front turn signals are wired as running lights (not sure if that's stock or not).  First mods will be highway pegs, GPS mount, and Givi topcase mount (all ordered).

Need to read up more on this hydrolock thing and any other potential issues.  Also looking into adding wings for better air flow, adding driving lights down low, and a throttle lock.

BTW not sure yet if I'll keep the Bandit.  On one side, it has nearly 50,000 miles on it and its probably not worth much.  Also, I ride about 12,000 miles are year, so splitting that between two bikes might be wise.  OTOH if I sell the Bandit, I'll have more money for accessories!

Metro West area, about 20 miles west of Boston.
