86 C10 in NH
« on: April 11, 2018, 04:31:00 pm »
New guy here (obviously) on an '86 C10. I bought it from a coworker for $600.
It has some issues like a leaking clutch and a sometimes misfire.
I wish this thing had reverse, lol. I have to back it up before I get on.
So I bought this bike as temporary transportation while I'm rebuilding my blown up KLX250S and soon to blow (again) Subaru. I think it might stay in the stable if I get all the issues addressed because everyone needs a mile cruncher, IMO.
See you out there.

Welcome Ben.   Hope it works out well for you.  The C10 tech area will help you get that backfire sorted out.  It is not a good sign and not to be glum but if not addressed could lead to a broke engine.  My guess is your float needles in the carbs are not sealing well.

Thanks. It's not a backfire, more like an electrical misfire.
I'm very aware of this bikes habit of committing seppuku.
Carbs are fine, for the moment.
