Or at least in your profile. Sometimes I wonder where someone is and go to the profile. Most people don't put their location in.

Better yet, post the location on the side where your "handle" is.
Me? Ulan Bator, then south 85 miles and west 72 miles. 🤣🤣
Seriously UK, about 40 miles east of London.

Why be worried about putting the town you live in? Unless you have something to hide....

My signature has had my location for years. I've never managed to add it to the sidebar. If anyone knows how, do share. 😁

I think it's funny how many guys don't put their age on the profile . I thought only women worried about telling their age .

Done. Not putting my age (56) as can't be bothered to change it every year.😁

My point was to make it easier for other cog members to quickly and easily communicate with the newbies.  The posting of another 'new c14 owner' and likewise postings, makes it a PIA  (my opinion) to go through all the 'new' postings.  By simply adding (example) new c14 owner from Savannah Georgia, it let's the folks in the southeast know they have someone nearby that might be interested in the area/regions events.  It also gives the members an opportunity to let the newbie where other members are located quicker then having to go into the profile area, which may or may not contain their home town or state.

Re: Add your location to ur post when introducing yourself.....

Ok, I can see I've made a grave tactical error.  I should have said post ur location on your introduction posting...

In reading all the new posts in the introduce yourself portion of the forum, they mostly say: new c14 owner or something to that effect.

Just think how nice it would be, to have a newbie say new c14 owner from Elgin illinois.  Man those guys up there in the north central area would be chatting this newbie up, getting them involved in the areas activity.

While we're all excited to see new blood coming into the club, it sure would streamline the process of making contact with the newbie, and the corresponding areas members.

That was the purpose of my suggestions post.  Not to add the location to all postings.

Sorry if I've ruffled any feathers....

I don't see any ruffled feathers or a need to apologize.  I think knowing the location of other folks here would be a good thing for the reasons you stated earlier.   :great:
