Back in the saddle again
« on: January 09, 2019, 08:52:43 pm »
Greetings to the COGdom.  I have been away from riding for several years while I dealt with my wife's health problems.  She passed away this past October.  I am starting to return to my life before she got sick.  One big step was to purchase a new ride.  It isn't a Kawi, but I have elected to continue my membership here because, like the club motto says, this is the best group of motorcyclists around.  I have gone to the dark side, dark blue that is.  I am the happy owner of a 2016 FJR1300ES.  After I work myself back into riding shape, I plan to make a couple of long trips this year.  Planning to attend the SC spring ride in Tx and hopefully the Nat in Pa.  Anyone in or passing through central Arkansas who would like someone to ride or talk with, give me a shout.  Everyone be safe and I'll see you on the road.

Welcome back James, sorry about the loss of your wife.

You must be in Cliff's (Just Cliff) neck of the woods (Greenbrier).  I see by your COG # that you've been around a while...do you know Cliff?
 Great guy.

Thanks.  Yes, I have ridden with Cliff a couple of times.  He is way smoother and faster than I was on my C10, probably still is.

Also, so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife; that's got to be difficult.

Great to have you back w/ your COG family. Not near the same as the loss of a loved one, but strength in camaraderie and folks of similar mind (at least bike-wise).

Thanks for the kind words.  It is difficult getting used to being on my own again.  Look forward to seeing y'all down the line.
