Great forum!
« on: December 01, 2018, 08:22:30 pm »
Hello from Wyoming. Tons of knowledge here.
I've owned many bikes my last few being CBR600 RC51 & ZX11. It's time to get the wife involved, how is it for 2 up riding?
I'll be commuting 34 mile to work and light to med touring/trips. Lots of Rocky MTN riding & Wy/SD Black Hills riding. I've checked out multiple Harley's & Indians...just not my thing and are a dime a dozen around here. Also looked at the new K1600B & really liked it.....but $26000 is a tough pill to swallow. I have it narrowed down to a few....Triumph Rocket 3 Roadster(closest dealer 6.5 hrs away/reliability), Yamaha V Max(very small fuel tank,I'd get stranded) & FJR1300ES(can't really find a downside) & Concours14 (again no real downside). So really its between the C14 or FJR1300...Thx again for input.

Welcome to the fourm!

 :welcome:

What part of Wyoming?

I happen to know that the Green C14 is well suited and a superior riding machine for the long hauls between towns here in Wyoming.
I probably have the only green C14 in Casper, WY.

Excellent bike for 2up, wife and I rode to Texas and back to Oregon this year. We did Missouri last year.

Welcome to the forum and the club. Good people, good riding, and good fun you shall find around this crowd.

I agree with the thread tile. Not only can you find a solution for nearly every mechanical issue on this forum, you can also find lots if not too many ideas for spending money on farkles.  :-[

The C10 is made no more, but you can still find low mileage models on EBay for ridiculously low prices. Insurance rates are partially based on cc’s, so 1000 cc rates will be lower than bigger bikes. At around 100 horsepower(depending who is measuring), it has plenty of power for 2 up riding. With the 7.5 gallon gas tank, you can expect around 300 miles on a tank of gas, if you can keep the speed down to legal(or almost legal) speeds. Dependability can’t be beat, and there are many out there still running with 200,000 miles on the odometer. And they are fun to ride, too. Knowing how you have some wide-open roads in Wyoming, maybe you have a need for speed, in which case you may want to consider a 172 mph bagger, the C14. Can’t go wrong, either way.

Don't Have 1; If your ready to buy now, want new, & willing to travel to get it: Someone posted a location that is selling 2018's for 10K..
Don't know what Taxes are in your state, but I think someone priced them with everything {make ready Tax title etc} OTD for about 11K.
Outstanding price for new.

I'm sure someone recalls where it is.
Found it;  New 2018 C-14 at dealership $9999
