Hello
« on: October 02, 2018, 01:10:58 pm »
Hello from North Alabama.  I had a Connie 1000 about 15 years ago, but I got so disgusted waiting for the C2 that I bought a used Valkyrie Interstate.  Not a bad bike, but my wife and I missed the Connie.  Lo and behold, a few months after I got the Valk, the C14 came out!  So... now that the older C14's are in my price range, I'm ready to sell the old Hondapottamus I have now (an 86 Aspencade) and hop on a Connie again.  I belonged to COG back in the day and loved going to the Run With the Wolf rally in Suches, GA every time I could.

Sooo... I think I read somewhere that several additions and/or improvements were made in the 2011 model year, so that may be my goal.  If the changes aren't that great, then I may look for an older model.  Can anyone expand on this?

Squatchmo,

Curious where you're located in north AL. I'm just south of Athens; ~20 miles west of Huntsville.

Welcome (back) Squatchmo!  You missed the 2018 RWW by days..... We had quite a gathering.  Keep an eye on the calendar and get to know some of you neighbors and we'll look forward to seeing you in person.

Squatchmo, welcome.
In 2014 (I think) they added the linked brakes.
In 2016 (I think) they improved how the brakes are linked.

NOTE: In 2014 a one time OMG Metallic Red was offered...  "Fastest color"

Ride safe, Ted

Road Runner - we must be neighbors, we live between Athens and Tanner.

Linked brakes... hmmm.... I have those on the old Hondapottamus.  Is it the same thing wherein the front brake lever controls one front rotor, while the rear brake pedal controls the rear rotor and the other front rotor?

I'm torn between red and blue, they are both fast colors but which one corners better?
