Here is my 98'
« on: November 06, 2019, 08:04:27 pm »
Nearly 160 days until I can ride again in Dakota.
This is how I walked into the bike after they had delivered it out of the trailer at the gas station.
I would get on and realize I was living a dream :)

Nice  :)  :great:
That colour is known as SnotBlack, because you will forever be saying to people "It's NOT Black, it's Green".  :rotflmao:

That's the color of my 97 too. I like it, in darker ambient light you swear it's black but in sunlight the dark slightly metal flake looking green glistens.

Ya it's horrible. But I'm just so happy I got a Connie. I wanted a thumper and then I thought a cruiser would get me a little further. I narrowed down my search and this was the max purchase point. And then I realized I had seen this bike before.. at different points throughout my life. The big Ninja is a bit of a legend.

I see people talk down on it here or there but I don't care I know what's good.

I had one the same colour. It was a great bike. Took me all over and was comfy (once I did a couple things). The only reason I sold it was I bought a C-14.

You guys would laugh at me if you knew my motorcycle history.
This is my first bike. I remember a moped at the house but I must have been too young.

This was my first street bike. It was great I got the most pleasure from starting this up. Sometimes I would have to kick it 30 times. When I heard it turn on it was freedom. I learned a lot. Especially not to go fast in tall grass because I hit a railroad tie and got it stuck in third gear.

This is my second street bike. I don't like to admit to riding this one. It looks especially goofy. However I will say it was quite reliable. And it never threw you any surprises. Uphill or downhill you knew how she would act. Dug many holes in the ground with her. The guard to the exhaust pipe later fell off and I seared my leg many times.

This is my third bike and it's a dirt bike. I threw a fit and demanded a bike and this is what my parents got. I rode it everyday after school until night. I rode it so much the front tire fell off crossing the railroad tracks. I rode it so hard until it needed to be overhauled  many times I would haul it to the farm where my cousins lived. They had bikes too and we would cut the fence and ride in the wild life refuge. Those hills were a challenge and the scenery was beautiful. Nobody ever got hurt miraculously.

My yamaha was an 80. The honda was the big one, with the high low gear.

And you probably are i live life hard haha.

Im probably better rider.

Today i took connie the dragon from bismarck to minot. When i got there my windshield and fenders had slush and ice

I had to stop to buy hand warmers. I got to my destination had two cups of coffee and had to leafe to beat the ice.

I had just watched tom cruise ride his ninja in top gun the night before. But i was scared to death to ride the valley back up to interstate.

Had no problems learned a lot about riding.

When i got back to bismarck i had it in second and accellerated so fast everybody else seemed to be in reverse. That was quite a noise.

I stopped at home and felt the back tire it was nice and warm.

My brother had called my mom and said i had stopped by. She called me crying and said no more riding this year.

While I'm here, want to invite you to join COG and join us at next years COG National in Vancouver Washington.
Assuming the snow is gone by June, it would be a heck of a trip.
{But since your such a good rider,,, EZ to do}..   ;)

Ride safe, Ted

PS: Don't believe all that they say about me. I'm actually a good guy.
      Heck, I'll talk to anyone... {even Yankee's Marine's}  :nananana:
