I just got my o4 Connie about 6 months ago and it is my first sport type bike. I've been ridding since 1975 and had many bikes from a suzuki GT750 to VTX1800. I now have a VTX1300C, A Burgman 650, And a 04 Concours. I ride as much as 12,000 miles a year and do most of my own maintinance. That is why I really like these site. It's all about people helping others. I joined COG 1/21/09 and hope to ride with some of you sometime. I live in the central eastern side of the state and have tools and a trailer for anyone who might have a problem in the area.

Hi Marty...  too bad you are not closer to northern Jersey. There is a scheduled "Meet & Greet" dinner in Pompton Lakes, NJ on March 19. Check out the Northeast Calendar of Events.       --  Steve Smith, COG #3184  COG Northeast Area Director  (somewhere in south central CT)     If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

There is more to be gained by members raising hands saying "I'll do that" instead of pointing fingers saying "nobody's doing that."

Marty,  Like you I have just joined COG.(2/22/09) I am new to riding and am enjoying every bit. I was looking for a bike about 6 months ago and found an 01 connie in great condition. Went through the MSF training got my license and been having fun ever since. I have enjoyed the lively discussions thus far and the many ideas and pictures to help me decide on the farkles I want for my bike. I look forward to posting my upgrades here soon.

Marty, welcome.  Lots of activity going on in the northeast region as posted on the Calendar.  Hoping we'll meet someday at one of those events.  I LOVE the rallies!  Also, check out the great stories the Connie Droppers Anonymous area on this forum.  Could help you prevent a "drop" on your Connie.  Take a look at the Library section for members.  Lots of good stuff in there too!  Many back issues of our national mag - The Concourier.  Plus many Northeast Area Newsletters.  All good reading!    Greg H from Mass, Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude  COG# 7010,a Tracey  CDA 120  99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle", 05 Ninja 250

Welcome Marty!  I've been a COG member just under a year, and the people here have been a great source of information and advice; they've even made me several hundred dollars too!  My '99 was hit in the parking lot of my health club last year, and using advice from Coggers I was able to negotiate a fair price for the damage. About 6 weeks after the accident "Margo" was repaired and back on the road.    Enjoy the group, the bike, and ride safe!  :)
