My First C14
« on: May 18, 2019, 02:23:11 am »
Hello all, Just Bought my First Connie, a 2008 C14 with only 4,500 miles on it. Fell in love first time I rode it. Purchased it from my employer they took it in on trade towards an RV. I believe I got a killer deal only 4k on the odometer and in mint condition got it for $4,000. So excited getting my plates on Monday. New tires and changed the oil and final drive oil. All seems to be in perfect order. Any advice for a noob though?

More specifically advice on what I should do for pre- ride maintenance on such an older model with very few miles on it. Fork seals seem good. Brakes work great only concern I have is ABS light wouldn't go off after I had the tires put on when I rode it back to my employers from the shop and it did go off when I rode it to the shop. Anything else I should be concerned with?

Did the shop mount the rim backwards?  Check to make sure the ABS ring on the rim is on the same side as the sensor.  (right side of bike when seated)

And, welcome to the COG!   :)   :beerchug:

 :welcome: aboard!

11 year old bike with basically no miles on it. I would flush N fill all fluids, inspect all rubber bits & replace radiator hoses for starters.
