New C14 owner - Virginia
« on: June 30, 2017, 09:01:45 pm »
Hello everybody,

I'm new to kawasaki, but not to riding.  I've ridden Honda's since the '80's, my most recent ride was a ST1300.  While I really liked the ST, but when the C14 Concours came out in 2008(?) I said " ... thats what I've been waiting for...".  I kinda wanted to see what Honda would answer with because I was a "honda guy", so I waited ( but mostly I couldn't afford a new bike ). But honda never did.
After a low speed collision, my wife said "NO MORE".  We argued, I relented and was mostly satisfied with an old Audi TT.  But no matter how much "tweaking" I did to the TT, I still missed riding...

After 3 years and bringing it up from time to time, my wife gave in, with some qualifications.  After 3 long years I'm back on a bike, and more importantly the bike I wanted in 2008  :great:

I live in Stafford VA, about 40 miles south of the hell thats called D.C.

Can't wait to break this thing in,
tomde

Congrats. on the new bike.

Give the C-14 a chance and I think most people will like it a lot. Sounds like you bought a new one, which is 2nd Gen. and I think that is a good thing.

Hang around here and you can learn lots of stuff.

My son lives in Triangle and works in 'The belly of the Beast', commuting from Quantico via auto, VRE, and Metro. You must not be too far from him.

There are quite a few people here from VA and at least some from northern VA, so you should be able to meet some other C-14 owners, maybe ride with them, maybe share some knowledge and / or skills about the bike.

Congrats. on the bike and best of luck with it.

Brian

Edited: Not my place to welcome anyone here, sorry. Also not my place to make humorous remarks regarding the forum, again sorry. Thought I was somewhere else (really, it looks just like here). Altered post to remove errors but left basic content. BDF 1 JUL 2017
