New Concours owner
« on: April 02, 2017, 04:06:59 am »
Hey everyone, I've read the forum on and off for a few years, and have always wanted to pick up a concours. Finally got one from another forum member and picked it up today. It's a 1995 with a little over 25,000 miles. Hope to put 100,000 miles on it before moving up to the C14. I come from mostly a cruiser background, but am excited to be on a concours now. I ride daily in the good weather as well as try to have a couple long weekends every summer.

Welcome to the COG Jake and enjoy the new-to-you ride. I also came from a cruiser background ( a couple of years ago ) and never plan to go back.

I'm in North East Ohio, but I get around. Two camps that I travel to regularly in PA and I like to take a couple trips every year. Put 80 miles on it today, lots of fun.

First week having it have a little over 200 miles so far, but it snowed three days. Miles will be up to around 450/week once the weather is good without adding any extra trips. Loving the bike so far.

How do you like it compared to a cruiser?

It has the protection I needed in order to ride everyday. I've previously had honda shadows, and also a honda v65 magna. It's not quite as quick as the V65 But offers allot more weather protection which makes it more rideable for me. Also, having the hard bags is nice for storage. Overall, I'm really happy with it so far. Did about 50 miles yesterday.
