New to me
« on: June 09, 2018, 12:44:30 am »
Hello all! I’m in Pasadena. I just bought a 99 Connie and I couldn’t be more thrilled. She’s in decent shape. Needed the regular, oil, plugs, valve adjustment. So far thanks to some members here (The Wizard) I got my fuel gauge to read accurately. Did the bafflectomy, big difference. The 2000 rpm stumble is almost gone. About to do swap the front end and rear wheel. Yay!!! Need to do the overflow tubes and will probably remove the lower fairings for the summer. It’s too hot in SoCal not too.

I’m coming from Honda’s my last was a 2000 Shadow 1100 that went up in flames on the side of the road. Yikes! I’m excited, this bike is already so much more fun and much more comfortable than the last few. I’m looking forward to many miles of bliss!

Welcome. Get the overflow tubes soon.

I am curious to know... how and why did the Shadow go up in flames?

Thanks guys! DC Concours I think someone botched the electrical. I discovered after I bought the bike that the stator was hardwired in to the loom. I also discovered that it had a salvage engine. Good times!!!
