Old Number 7 - Still Crazy After All These Years
« on: May 06, 2008, 06:08:00 pm »
Greetings Fellow GOGitators:    My name is Rich, and I live in the Seattle burbs.  My turn-ons include the sound of a straight four bouncing off the rev limiter late on a summer evening, sacrificing dead animal flesh on a firey altar, body surfing, and women with an Ivy League education.  I am bummed by people with crappy maintenance habits, the airline industry in general, waves that break too soon, poorly tested software and people who take themselves, and life in general, too seriously.    If I was made King Of The World I would ban Winnebagos, semis and anyone touching a cell phone from the world's highways between the hours of 5:00 AM and midnight.  There would be no maximum speed limits, only minumn speed limits.  All people with a Superior Attitude would be forced to live in Greenland.  Airline executives would be forced to fly on their own airline at least twice a week.  All the world's issues would be solved via motorized contests of speed.    And yes, NASCAR would be declared a controlled substance and banned.  So flame me.  Like I give a ratsass about the opinion of anyone who defends NASCAR. :eg:        If this last one offends you, please refer to my comment about taking things too seriously. :)    The Original Rich Reed  COG #7  1986 Kawasaki Ninja 1000R  1977 Yamaha XS650 Standard  2004 Little Blue Chevy  "Over the hill it's five bucks.  Here in Idaho it's a hundred and eighty."

Hi Rich,    Welcome, I would vote for you for king of the world but I think you do not have to ban nascar, just ignore it like I do.    <p align="left">My Photos

I would amend your coment about air lines to include all employees, and they would have to fly in coach for atleast a 3 hour flight once a month.
Well...even if you fall on your face you're still moving forward.

Uh oh.  I'm beginning to see a pattern here.  All the neat witty things I said, but what stands out is my NASCAR dig.    Just goes to show ya, one Awshit cancels out all previous Attaboys.  The Original Rich Reed  COG #7  1986 Kawasaki Ninja 1000R  1977 Yamaha XS650 Standard  2004 Little Blue Chevy  "Over the hill it's five bucks.  Here in Idaho it's a hundred and eighty."

Hi Rich,    Glad to see that you're on the new forums. I sure enjoyed the R&P rally that I got to attend; must get back to the Ennis area again. Beautiful up there.    You got my vote for King of the World, dude. If Nastycars is gone maybe we can get Speed Vision back to BIKES!  :eg:  Pat  COG 1887   IBA 5830  "Dulcinea" A13 KLR 650  "Betsy" K7 DL650  "Tri-X" DR 350SEX  "Pogo" '06 Ruckus  "Track Machine" '04 R6  "Grey Ghost" '07 EX 250

Hi Rich!    Nebraska Jerry here. It's good to see you are still around. Haven't heard a peep from you since the last R&P. Hope to bump into you again sometime. Perhaps at the National?    For the rest of you that don't know me, I live in the land of the flat and straight, Nebraska. I've been a member of COG since... well, I guess I don't remember exactly when. I do know that my first national rally was in 1996 at Avon Colorado, but had already been a member for a number of years before that. I haven't missed a national ever since.    I'm on my second Connie. The first one was an 87 wineberry. The current one is a 98. Yeah, the fugly green one. It didn't remain green for very long. Right now it is a gold-ish - copper-ish color. There might be a pic of it on my webpage. Ah, here is one that I took right after a freek thunderstorm blew it over at work.://www.flickr.com/photos/cog1374/630472360/    Back in the summer of 03 I bought the Goldwing. Since that time I managed to put about 60K on it.I thought I would be able to ride both but now as it turns out, the Connie don't get used much these days. If I was smart I would sell it to someone that will ride it.I hate to see it sit and wither away.    Jerry Layman  COG 1374  1998 ZG1000  2002 GL1800

Pat Sprague!  Nebraska Jerry!  Far Out!  I am having cosmic flashbacks, mostly to do with Ennis.  Gteat to hear from you guys.    Hey Pat, say Hi to Joe Congero from Long Island nest time you see him.  He and I are forming an evil plot that we will foist upon the world in 2010.    Yes, we have definetly had some great times, especially at the R&P's.  At the Bun Cooler two weeks ago it was communicated to me on more than one occasion that a fourth R&P would be nice.      Yeah, it would......      The Original Rich Reed  COG #7  1986 Kawasaki Ninja 1000R  1977 Yamaha XS650 Standard  2004 Little Blue Chevy  "Over the hill it's five bucks.  Here in Idaho it's a hundred and eighty."

Rich,    Joe attended the COG Generals Ride Rally that I hosted in New Market, VA a couple years ago. It was good to see him again, and hopefully again soon.    Yes, please keep me posted on your and Joe's evil deed in the making; preferrably before the dam breaks!      :gasp:    And, YES, I'm up for a week or more in the Ennis area. Sounds reasonable and prudent to me!  ;)    Pat  Pat  COG 1887   IBA 5830  "Dulcinea" A13 KLR 650  "Betsy" K7 DL650  "Tri-X" DR 350SEX  "Pogo" '06 Ruckus  "Track Machine" '04 R6  "Grey Ghost" '07 EX 250
