Tip o' the hat to Coggers from a really old Cogger.
« on: June 30, 2018, 01:53:22 pm »
Howdy to all Coggers everywhere!

I was riding my (now ancient but still exhilarating 2004) FJR 1300 into town and saw some fellow whiz by on a C10 and I thought, Wow! What a great bike those old Connies still are. Then I thought, whatever became of COG, with which I was very involved in the mid-2000's as editor of The Concourier.

In fact, all my best cross-continent rides were connected in some way with COG. Riding from coast to coast was an unforgettable experience. I got a lot of looks when I went through "The Dragon" at Deals Gap with Oregon license plates hanging off the fender. There's a bit of wanderer in every motorcycle rider I think.

I started nosing around this website, only to find one of my old issues used as "bait" for new members! I'm flattered, for sure. (I think I still keep samples of every issue I put out over the three or so years I had the magazine.)

I remember writing a puff piece on a fellow in California who was 72 years young and who took up C10 moto riding at the age of 70. So here I am now, at 75, and still putting along Oregon highways and hoping I have one last marathon ride left in this old body.

Anyway, I'm glad to see COG still being the place to go for Connie (and other) riders. I don't recognize a lot of the handles and names around these parts but of few of them actually are familiar.

I wish you all the very best in your riding.
