Wanted a Concours for Years
« on: September 25, 2017, 05:31:17 pm »
After many years and miles of enjoyable riding on my 2008 Versys, I recently purchased my first Concours.  She's a 2011 with only 14k miles.  Great end of the season deal.  The Versys served me well, but a bike more 'long haul' worthy was something I desired.  Love all the additional power (not that I'll use it), smoothness, and amenities it has.  Already ordered riser adapters to bring the bars back just a little bit more.  I'm looking forward to learning from folks who have experience with this wonderful machine.

I upgraded from riding a Versys also.  Each is fun in its own way, but overall I do love the change to the Concours (except for pushing it out of the garage).

I agree with the additional weight of the Concours.  At least the seat is lower than on the Versys :)

I have a Versys 1000 and a Concours.  I find myself wanting to ride the Concours more and more.

Lurch71 - I still held onto the Versys when I bought the Concours.  Wasn't sure if I'd like the new bike as much.  Wasn't sure if it would 'fit' me well.  After only one week I'm thinking I'll be selling the Vee.

funny - I have a pretty nice concours, and last year bought a 650 versys lt. that little bike is more fun than a barrel of monkeys! It's a blast because I can't really scare myself like I can with the concours. I find for shorter rides, the versys is the go-to bike. anyways, enjoy your concours! steve

I sold my '99 c*10 with 234k miles on it after buying a used '15 650LT last October. Due to heavy farkelization the Vs didn't get ridden much until mid December. It now has 22k more miles on it. Yes, I like the Vs.

My other bike is a pretty well beat up '98 KLR650.

Oh, and welcome aboard. Do come out and meet up with us somewhere.
