Well, Hello there.
« on: November 11, 2019, 03:03:26 am »
Hello all! My name is Rob (aka KiloXray or just "KX").

I bought a 2017 Concours 14 about 2 weeks ago. It was a hold over, new, never sold at a dealership. Only had 2 miles on it! I've wanted a C14 for years and, as you can imagine, I couldn't pass on the deal!

Little bit about me as a motorcyclist. I'm 41, and started riding at about 6 years old. I've owned about a dozen motorcycles in my adult life, only going without for a few brief occasions. Over the years I have been primarily a street sport and offroad rider. Looks like that will continue with the C14! There was a time when I was a certified MSF Rider Coach, but I have not been current for about 5 years. Maybe someday I will revisit that.

I live in the PNW (NW Tacoma area). We recently moved here and I'm hoping to use the C14 to do some exploring in the region! My youngest son started riding 2up with me a little over a year ago. He's really excited about having a more plush back seat and being able to get some extra quality time with Dad...and so am I!

Anyway, I'm very happy to be sporting a C14 and maybe I'll run into one of you here or there!

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob, and welcome from the UK.
I got to ride the NorCal/Oregon area between SF and Crater Lake back in 2001.
Beautiful area if ya stay out of the Central Valley.
I envy you the empty roads and endless forests.

One of these days I'll get to ride northern OR and WA.  :)

Welcome aboard from the dry side of the state! I think you will love the bike. Since I got mine the ZX-10 has been getting neglected, but still needed. I suggest you watch that old movie where Max Von Sydow plays Ming the Merciless... so you can hear Queen sing; Flash!! Aaaa ah!

See ya on the road.

Welcome Rob! Your gonna like it here.
Hope your enjoying your new C-14. {Your bike history is very similar to many of us}.
At this point; I normally tell the new folks; "Come Ride with us".
But; This time, I'm making an exception.  :-\
Bekuz; In June of next year, we're coming to ride with "YOU" at the COG National in Vancouver.
NOTE: There may be 200+ of us. {Hope to see you there too}.

Ride safe, Ted

PS: It's customary for the New Folks to buy the first round of beer...   >:D <evil/sneaky grin>
