New National COG Safety Officer
« on: January 29, 2014, 02:19:31 pm »
You might have noticed that the Moderator for this Motorcycle Safety column now lists Larry Buck. Larry has been our C10 Tech Editor for some time now, and has kept us informed on maintenance and repair  for the C10 by way of his great articles written in the Concourier. He now takes on the task as Safety Officer, which was vacated by Jim Culp recently. Larry has been an AAD, then AD for the SE area, Tech Editor, and now Safety Officer. Willing to do whatever is asked of him for the benefit of COG, he is the personification of the involved COG member.
My friend and mentor for twelve years in COG, please join me in welcoming Larry to this important role. Without members like Larry, COG just wouldn't exist.    Al

Thanks to Jim Culp for his wonderful service as Safety Officer.  He leaves some big shoes for Larry, but my money says Larry's got big feet. ~duck~   I know he left some big shoes to fill for Steve Sefsick.

Larry's done a great job as C-10 Tech Guy and will surely speedshift into the new role and never miss a beat.  Some of these positions are never given the recognition or appreciation they deserve...  And, IMHO, Safety Officer is near the top of that list.  Jim Culp has brought us lots of wonderful articles and told us to slow down the pace, wear some gear, and take care of our steeds.  It wasn't always advice we followed or appreciated, but it was always well aimed and from the heart.  I'm anxious to look to Larry for more good, sound advice, tips, and information.  Welcome to the job Larry.  Thanks for the support of this great group.   :beerchug:    <-- that's an after the ride beerchug there    ;D

larry, thanks for stepping up to a different plate within COG.
Within all of your motorcycle left, you have gained a ton of information that I'm sure you will share.

Thank you all for the good wishes in my new role. I have some ideas that will help us ride safely, but I would like to ask you folks if there are some things you would like me to explore to help us all stay in one piece. If you will send your idea(s) to me in the next few weeks, I may be able to get it in the next issue of the Concourier.

The 1st article for the Concourier will be in the Spring issue....just in time for the riding season.

I echo thanks to Jim for the good work he has done, and wish him much success in his AAD role.

I should also thank Al Norcross for "brokering" this deal.  Al and I go back aways, and I am grateful for his allowing me input for the betterment of the SE region and our Group. XOXO Kemosabe.

In the meantime, Ride safe.....and well.
