Alas about Rella's .... but right nearby highly recommend the Holly River State Park Restaurant:  http://www.hollyriver.com/amenities.html

Nearby in that Holly River SP is also in Hacker Valley and just up the road from Rella's.

Looks good.
Does anyone else know of a good spot to eat while out riding in the area?
Please share.

Rella's Roadside Cafe is a nice 3-4 hour ride from the HoJo but unfortunately Rella chose to permanently close the cafe last summer.  There will not be any more pie.

Looks like you are going to have to deal with the 3 Amigos, since Jack, Chuck, and I are attending.  :motonoises:

The Hojo said there are no rooms left under that COG block.  However, ask for the “summer promotion” and you can get non-cancel rooms for $55.20 Thursday, and $59.21 the next two nights.  Also, ask for your room to be next to the COG block.

Looks like a great time, and will be my first time attending.  Thanks for organizing the event again Jason.   :beerchug:

I was in Staunton this weekend with some friends.......

The Motel is under going some renovations! New carpet, some new furniture etc. so everyone should be happy with Motel.............

There is a new Donut/Coffee shop just down the street from the motel. Still lots of great places to eat in town....we did Dinner at the Clocktower and it was wonderful.

Get a room booked asap!

:offtopic: After reading that nice write up about Johnstown, and having a attended a number of "Flood City" Rallies there, one has to wonder why did you decide to move out?   :confuse:
After all you haven't moved to Staunton.  :hum:

Jack, Chuck and I are meeting up with John Lippy and perhaps a few others.  Assuming we don't do the "Russell Fleming tour of the United States" on the way down, it should be around 250 miles for most of us. I assume we will beat you down there?  :truce:  :motonoises:

Vicki & I hope to be in Staunton by 4:30 PM on Thursday.  :)  Since Vicki is driving down in the cage I wonder if I should bring a supply of Yuengling from home.  :beerchug:

I know this is a little late to be mentioning this, but if anyone in the NJ/NYC area wants to bring a non-riding significant other,  I'm sure Vicki would appreciate the company while driving down in the cage.

Are you making the run and putting ice in your top box again?    :beerchug:

hey guys....before I forget, just want to tell you to enjoy the rally and the roads up there next week.  a few weeks back I was coming back home from NYC from vacation.  I took the opportunity to take 211 east from New Market and then 340 south to my family homestead in Comertown VA.  as I drove over the mountain on the curvy roads, I thought about how much fun you guys are going to have.  Enjoy!   :beerchug:

211 does look like fun. I'm going to have to talk our leader into that stretch of road. :great:

Only problem is it's short and not sure where the next set of twisties will come up.     Perhaps as a route up to the parkway

Sometime Thursday is the best I can say at the moment (probably before you get there at 6 pm).  We just got back home from Claude's Nova Scotia event.  Our current plans are to leave Tuesday morning.

Don't forget the 39 from Lexington along the Maury river. What a great road at the Brrr ride last fall.

The road from Natural Bridge over to the parkway is one of my favorites! RT130 IIRC

Yes, I remember VA-130 well.  I was coming back from riding the BRP at the "Spring Fling" in 2008/9.  I had just had a blast on the curvy section of VA-130.  The road had straighten out for a long down hill so I shifted up and relaxed for the ride back to Natural Bridge . . . . when suddenly :-\ there was a deer in front of me.
That ended my nice day of riding and totaled my C-10.   :'(

Well only one deer strike in 40+ years of riding with a lot of it done at night.  I guess I can't complain. ;)
