I thought COG spirit was putting some JB Weld onto the hole and using river water to refill?

Really would like to have made this one as Vermont is always a blast but I am leaving on the 17th to start the USA 4 Corners Tour.  Hmmm, wonder if I can delay it a few days?  ::)

Rallye fees? Checked.
Carnivore choice for the banquet? Checked.
Hotel reservations? Checked.
Hoping for a better exchange rate before the trip? Huhhh...

I've got brake pads to change, oil change, need new rubber, but that should all be done by May...

A little disappointed in the Paradise Inn... We have 4 people coming up. Jamming everyone into even a premiere room is going to be tight. I called to see if there was any group discounts for the other suites. Nope... Nada... Oh well the price I have to pay for a happy wife and happy life..

One of the items that will be on display during the banquet will be a Martin Wasp.  I've been told it is one of two in existence.  Built locally in Bennington.

Wow!  Less than a week into our announcement for the Northeast Spring Fling Rally and we already have 29 registrants.

http://tinyurl.com/COGSpringFling2017

We have a limit of 125 for the banquet so get in before you can't anymore.

This is going to be a good one.

My 18yo son will be with me on his 2014 Versys 650. He still says I copied him when I got the 2015 in green. Ha! I'll have the whole family in tow. The Mrs. and my 9 year old son are coming also. It should be a great starter to the season.

Amazing!  Almost 40 people already.

On another note, this is a great day ride - one which I'll be making to get a great sandwich at a scenic creek side location.  Wind your way up route 7 to route 4 to 100 north.

Anyone coming up through NY there is a terrific BBQ joint in Wingdale NY on rte 22, big Ws BBQ. It's about 100 miles south of Bennington. We usually have a yearly meet and greet there, good grub. They open at noon and are closed on Tuesdays. Fast cafeteria style self serve eat in or outside picnic tables. Then about a 2 hour trek north to Bennington.

Oh Steve.... Posting the food stops... Now you just trolling to see if you can catch Jason...  :D

I've been to a half dozen or so Triumph Rallies at Bennington. It's a great place for a rally. The Paradise has a parking lot just right for late / all night "technical sessions." The motel is located right across the street from Hemming's gas station / museum. A good breakfast joint is walking distance down the street toward the town center on the same side of the street as The Paradise.

Plenty of things to do, places to see there. Great roads with awesome scenery.

The Greenwoods campsite is the closest and exactly as the description states - hostel rooms, warm building showers, and camp sites. Greenwoods put all us Trumpets together around a big fire pit. I don't know what the method is to have them do a group site though. I never heard anything bad about Greenwoods, and the Triumph group returns every year.
http://campvermont.com/greenwood/

Some odd things come to mind - as you travel, notice the river beds are often carved out 20' high. This is from a Hurricane that dumped 15 to 17" of rain in one night.

Also - check out The Blue Benn Diner. Real food almost all made from scratch. A clean and old school diner, but excellent food that always blows me away in this the frozen / microwave food age.

Third thing - Stewarts gas stations have no alcohols in their high test gas.

And now we interrupt our programming for the ever present, Capt. Obvio:

May camping in VT very often = around 30F in the mornings. Not a problem for many, but something I had to learn the hard way. (Like usual)

Hope to see y'all there. Too early to commit for me.
