Title: Minuteman Ride MA Saturday August 17
Post by: Greg Habel on July 16, 2019, 07:18:42 pm
Join Maryann and Wayne on a ride through parts of Middlesex and Northern Worcester Counties in MA.

Bring a brown bag lunch to eat by Wachusett Reservoir.

We plan to stop at Minuteman National Historical Park for a stroll to the North Bridge and the Minuteman statue by Daniel Chester French if there is enough parking for us.

The ride will end at Great Brook Farm in Carlise, MA where you get some ice cream and check out the farm animals.  247 North Rd, Carlise, MA.

The long range forecast for Saturday is looking pretty good!

Some other things we'll see along the way ...

- The bat weathervane on the top of the school in Townsend
- Clyde, the giant hobby horse to the right as we turn to leave Winchendon
- The dirt flat track of the Wachusett Valley Riders Club
- The schoolboy statue (carrying a lunch pail and books) on the left as we go through Ashburnham
- The falls to the left at the intersection of South St & 119 in Townsend
- Stone Cow Farm (ice cream, BBQ, Brewery, etc.) in Barre
- Sterling Airport
- The Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton
- Walden Pond in Concord

I’m sure I’ve missed a few.

Nice turnout, reasonable weather (a little hot and humid, but mostly dry), and a terrific ride yesterday!
