I ride with 3 other connies out of queens NY would love to hook up for a ride one day
Why don't we try to put something together like this again for July? Plenty of time for riders to pencil in the date...

On the calendar...  Set up local meet locations to ride there...
JULY 18 - Big W BBQ Meet & Greet - Wingdale, NY.
Might also be a good spot to begin an after lunch ride from.

davidg14,

If you're free on Sunday or on the fence, let me know if you're in and I can meet up with you near the Whitestone or Throgs Neck bridge.

The Catskills -- excellent coincidence. I have only a few hundred miles on my new to me '04 Connie, and have had a strong hankerin' to ride through that area, but home duties have prevailed (see also - any excuse to not work on the yard.)

I'm signed up, and surely hope to meet some new folks,  but at the moment can't guarantee my attendance. I'll be the guy with the coat with all the Triumph gee gaws on it.

Hi, guys:

I'm on Long Island, on my way home to Canada from Spring Fling. Was planning on riding through that exact area tomorrow, but could delay a day in order to meet up with the group.

Sounds like more fun than on my own. Hope to see you all there.

As an ex-newspaper guy, I love a great headline.

I have plugged the Mobil gas station, Exit 18, into my cranky GPS, and will leave Long Island in plenty of time.

See you guys tomorrow.

Hey Squid. I'm meeting Ari on the Bronx side of the Throgs Neck between 10 and 10:15. Right after the tolls is an exit IMMEDIATELY after the tolls. Would love another for the ride up.

Bummer, I was all set to go but I have visitors from Puerto Rico and have to entertain them so I won't be able to make it.  I guess better luck next time.

You'll be missed.  See you next time.  I've got a few tentative days planned out for rides this summer, and if all works out as well as I expect today, I am going to try to host a few.  Plus maybe a Meet & Greet.

Always room for one more.  I've kept much larger groups together on much longer rides.   ;D

Okay, one more.  I was in New Paltz yesterday, in the cage, with Vicki but I can find my way back.  But no Thruway for me.  I'll ride up on the County roads to start my day.  :motonoises:

Well, another great ride completed safely.  After far too little sleep, (work 11pm-7am, breakfast with the kids, hop on bike to New Paltz) I seem to remember leading a successful ride.  I vaguely remember people telling me that they had a great time, how much they loved the route, and that lunch was more than merely satisfactory.  But that could be merely a figment of my overtired imagination, and I actually spent the whole day nearly unconscious in my bed.  So, I hope everyone will post here about what actually occurred, so I can do a somewhat accurate write-up for the next Concourier.  I have the signup sheet, and I think everyone signed in except Mike Aldea.  But I may be hallucinating that he was present as well.  So I should have a list of participants.

What I imagine is that we had 11 bikes and 13 people show up for the ride.  The traffic through New Paltz was terrible.  There was a REALLY slow Victory motorcycle on 44/55.  But then the trip was excellent.  No one got lost, everyone rode at a pace that was good for them, and there was no grumbling about the slower riders when the quicker ones had to wait.

I'll try to get the couple of pics I took posted tomorrow.

Yes, I was there and got to have a rather large lunch when the waitress gave me two free slices of pizza to make up for not putting in my burger order.  I eventually got my burger which was delicious.

The ride up on two lane roads was fun except for having to ride through the middle of New Paltz to get to the meetup site at the Thruway exit.  The ride home from Phoenicia, also all on two lane roads, took 2 hours, 20 minutes.  I wonder how long it took everyone else to get to the Tappan Zee that went to Kingston to pick up the Thruway South.

Btw, someone asked at lunch what the population was for Phoenicia.  As of the 2010 Census, the population was 309.

Glad to hear you guys had a great day!  I've been stuck in the damn cage for a total of about 13 hours for the past two weekends and I'm SOOO done with it!  Tomorrow I actually have NOWHERE to be so there'll be a little spin around lovely Staten Island followed by some well deserved relaxation.  My schedule is packed until mid June so expect a repeat of my North Jersey Ramble in late June or early July.
